Released on = September 18, 2006, 9:09 am
Press Release Author = Meredith Publishing
Industry = Entertainment
Press Release Summary = Meredith Corporation, publisher of Better Homes & Gardens Scrapbooks etc., has announced a partnership with InXpo, the world's largest, most comprehensive online convention provider, to launch the first online consumer scrapbook show. The show is scheduled to occur in February 2007 and again in November 2007.
Press Release Body = Few "brick-and-mortar" scrapbooking shows are currently available to the consumer. Scrapbooks etc.'s five-day online show will allow attendees worldwide, novice and expert scrapbookers alike, the ability to learn and be inspired through an ideas gallery, attend unique education sessions and see the latest techniques and products, with the ability to buy products at the show. Show attendees need only an Internet-connected computer to attend, and since the show is online, it will be open around the clock.
"On average, scrapbookers spend more than seven hours a week scrapbooking. Nearly half of this group works full time, so we understand they don't have time to travel long distances to attend a physical show," said Jeff Myers, General Manager of Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications. "InXpo has a top-notch technology platform offering our customers all the features of a physical consumer show, which they can attend at their own convenience."
"The scrapbook enthusiast is already comfortable with the Internet and loves to seek the latest ideas and techniques, chat and interact with fellow scrapbookers and have the ability to shop and buy the latest scrapbook products. This online event will create an enjoyable experience by providing all these elements under one virtual roof," said Melissa Inman, Group Editor, Scrapbooks etc.
"By venturing onto the Internet, Meredith is using online innovation to better serve scrapbookers of all skill levels and interests," said InXpo CEO Malcolm Lotzof. "InXpo is providing an additional opportunity for Scrapbooking etc. to open the door to a much larger audience of enthusiasts eager to participate in an online convention."
Detailed information for those interested in attending and participating at the Scrapbooking etc. show will be announced shortly.
